We are delighted to congratulate the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe on the successful launch of its Citizen Portal on 27 March 2026. Funded through the World Bank’s digitisation initiatives and by Co-Develop, this platform represents a meaningful step forward in improving citizen access to government services and strengthening the country’s digital public infrastructure.

Beyond service delivery, the portal provides a pathway to building verifiable credentialing infrastructure — supporting use cases such as tax certificates and police clearing certificates, with future applications including education certificates for universities.

The beta version is now live and designed to integrate with additional government services as they come on board. The launch also coincided with the 18th anniversary of the Institute for Innovation and Knowledge (INIC), whose instrumental role in bringing this portal to life deserves special recognition. A fitting occasion to celebrate two important milestones together.

At CDPI, we are honoured to have partnered with São Tomé on this journey and to continue providing technical advisory support. This achievement is a testament to what collaborative effort and shared commitment to digital transformation can accomplish across Africa.
